In 2005 two Rhode Island mariners concerned about the amount of trash that has accumulated along the Narragansett Bay shoreline over the past several decades decided to survey the area and draft a report documenting the debris they located.
Like these two mariners, anyone that spends time in or around Narragansett Bay can’t help but notice the abandoned boats, tires, pilings, “camels” (those very large wooden objects that are nearly impossible to remove given their weight), and general items of trash/debris. With hundreds of tons of debris littering the Bay, and more accumulating each season, the two mariners felt it was time to take action. So they did just that.
The two took their survey report to anyone that would listen and as a result, ridding the Bay of debris has become a priority not only to Captain Alan Wentworth and Captain Ed Hughes, but to local, state and federal agencies and officials. This website has been developed to keep you, people interested in the state of Narragansett Bay, kamagra informed on the status of Clean the Bay’s efforts. We also hope you will contact us to report any large items of debris not documented in the survey reported. |
